Life history
Sir James Chadwick was born on October 20, 1891 in Bollington, England. His parents were Joseph, and Anne Chadwick. Joseph was a railway keeper, and Anne was a domestic servant. He became one of the best known physicists, and is best known for his incredible discovery of the neutron. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1935, and led the British team in the Manhattan project, which supported the effort to build the nuclear bomb. Sadly, he died on July 24, in 1974.
